30 Arctic terns

Photostorytelling. Fetlar, Shetland Islands. August 2019.

On a hiking tour on Fetlar we entered the territory of the Arctic tern. As we did not want to disturb them we tried to stay in a safe distance and nevertheless got ‘attacked’. The closest approach by outraged Arctic terns was about one meter.

30 images (see all of them below) were made within two or three minutes. Afterwards we left the beautiful birds alone again.

The camera of my dreams

There is no ‘best camera’ – we all know that. Cameras are tools – not more. Nevertheless I often ask myself, if an upgrade of my old and trusty camera gear (RICOH GR II, Mamiya 7 II, Hasselblad 500 C, Nikon FE and FE2) could help me reach the next level of photography – so – shall I upgrade? If yes – what’s the ‘best’ new camera?

58 yrs old Hasselblad 500 C vs. RICOH GR II

Despite my love for my RICOH GR II I still shoot film, recently even more. This blogpost shows two images of the Cima di Fojorina (Southern Swiss Alps), made with the Hasselblad 500 C, Carl Zeiss Planar f=80 mm 1:2.8, Kodak Portra 400 (120) and the RICOH GR II, GR Lens f=18.3 mm 1:2.8.
