Looking for the Wulver

I’ve heard a lot of the famous Wulver (Sea-Wolf) living in the Scottish Highlands. “Wolfburn’s (remark: a whisky distillery in Thurso) motif depicts a creature found in both Scots and Norse mythology. According to ancient lore, the sea-wolf  ‘did liveth both on sea and land.’ Walking on water is not its only gift: the sea-wolf also brings good luck to all those fortunate enough to see it.” (Source: Wolfburn whisky distillery in Thurso, ‘the most northerly whisky distillery on the Scottish mainland’).

Does this old famous creature really exist?

I wanted to find out and travelled to the Northwest Highlands of Scotland.

favourite #2. no one loves - but me.

Here is the making of another image no one loves – at least it seems like that! – but me. It is one of my favourites.

In one of my previous posts I started my series ‘favourite #[number]. no one loves – but me’, which shows the making of one of my much beloved, but rather “difficult” images – “difficult” in terms of “no one loves” or better “not pleasing everybody” – but nevertheless beeing one of my favourites. For me it is essential to have my own photographic style – my images do not have to please everybody.

I’d like to tell you the stories of four of my favourite images; all of them were captured after a day of quite hard work, after gently slowing down. Main station of Berne – a short image comparison.

Berne Main Station

Yesterday I’ve been to Berne for a coaching lesson – and as always I was quite early and therefore had plenty of time to enjoy my two french croissants and to discover our small capital. Here are some of my images of the main station of Berne in the early morning sun.
