Description

This art photo zine is made in the Swiss Alps, Switzerland. It is a collection of beautiful moments full of light and shadows, made between 2018 and 2020 in the Ticino, the most southern part of Switzerland.

My photography is ‘slow’ – every photograph was made by myself with care, shooting digital or film.

What you get

One of my favourite art photo zines. Tremola – in my opinion one of the most beautiful pass roads of the world, and one of my dreams.

The Swiss made, carefully elaborated and handcrafted art photo zine is digitally printed in a professional print shop. Silk finish. A5 landscape. 32 pages (including cover pages). 20 color and monochrome photographs. Staple bound.

Art storytelling, photographs illustrated with a lot of emotion and love! Carefully self-illustrated map. Storytelling text.

Take the intro text as and excerpt:

Tremola – the world-famous pass road between Airolo and the Gotthard Pass is Switzerland’s longest street monument.
The old serpentine road is 16 kilometers long with and ascent of 930 meters. On its most spectacular section, it winds up 300 meters in 24 hairpin bends; each of them has its own name. The Tremola is 6 to 7 meters wide and flanked by up to 8 meters high retaining walls. It consists mainly of cubic granite paving stones (cobbles).
Inspired by its legendary and strange myth I spent several days on the Gotthard Pass and at the Tremola. I will never forget the time in my tent in complete silence between the curves of the old road.
All images were made in 2019 and 2020.

Intro text from Tremola Photo Art Zine by Christian Speck, 2020

I am inspired by minimalism and simplicity, monochrome and black & white. I shoot film and digital. My images shall look film like, having soft, rich tones – most similar to those developed and processed in my own darkroom. I love to make photographs rather than to take them; the process and the story behind an image is most important!

The cameras used for this zine is my most beloved RICOH GR II.

I hope you enjoy my photographs.

Thank you!
