Time will tell

Philosophic thoughts about moments and transience of time.
Norway, Lyngen Alps. February 11 and 13, 2019.

Transience of Snow

This morning I left Anton’s beautiful cottage (see this map, the cottage is marked in red) – the fantastic Hytte i Lyngsalpene even before sunrise.

While putting on my snowshoes I was thoughtfully wondering if I would be allowed to touch the untouched and intact snow cover – this white and endless beauty. Do not call me crazy, but my tracks would be visible for days!

Transience of Light and Shadows

Down near the frozen Jægervatnet thousands of trees casted their long shadows on the endless expanse of snow. Would the shadows still be there when I came back from the frozen lake?

Everything is transient over time!

It would be interesting to see the transience of light and shadows over time – maybe this could be one of my future photo projects? Exciting!

While I walked across the light forest I remembered John Muir‘s famous quote:

«The clearest way into the Universe is through a forest wilderness.»
― John Muir

Transience of Colors

Waiting for the Aurora Borealis.

Aurora Borealis

“I have been waiting a long time for these short moments,
when coloured sparkling, shining,
glittering and shimmering bright spots of light
flit across the deep sky –
like cosmic paintings of my dreams.”
— Christian Speck
