This may be debatable in relation to photography, but in my personal case it is true though.

Not ready for black & white
Yesterday I wanted to photograph some beautiful black and white compositions in the wood. It was the first day of my vacation.
But the scenery did not seem to be ready for black & white. Or was it me?

This week I tried to simplify my vision to only one (1) color – blue – and combined it with black & white. 4 subjects in #monochrome.

Main station of Berne – a short image comparison.
Yesterday I’ve been to Berne for a coaching lesson – and as always I was quite early and therefore had plenty of time to enjoy my two french croissants and to discover our small capital. Here are some of my images of the main station of Berne in the early morning sun.
I am still not sure which image looks best to me. What do you think – which one do you like most? I am curious to hear your opinion. Thank you a lot!
Monochrome Train Stations
Monochrome Train Stations. Paris, France; Basel, Switzerland; Bédarieux, France.
2018-April and 2018-May. Photoessay.
Back in my old film days I was processing my black and white negative films in my own darkroom – working on the finest 35 mm and 6×6 and 6×7 cm medium format negatives, and afterwards spent a lot of time in the positive darkroom to finally get fantastic fine art black and white prints on silver rich baryta paper.
Today I still love to shoot in black and white or even more in monochrome color using my modern digital cameras.
Here is a bunch of my recent monochrome images of three epic train stations in Basel, Paris and Bédarieux. I love the analogue film look of the images.

Some photographic thoughts about contrasts, highlights and shadows.
Many modern contemporary fine art street photographs and cityscape photographs are characterized by strong contrasts between the deepest shadows and the brightest highlights – which makes them very attractive in common. Pure black shadows and pure white highlights predominate – in between there is only a small range of greytones; contrasts are high.
Fujifilm X100F, Haoge LH-X49B 2in1, thinkTANK Mirrorless Mover® 5
I wanted to simplify my camera gear and go minimal, that’s why I was looking for a minimal bag for my Fujifilm X100F with mounted Haoge LH-X49B 2in1 lens hood. Would the thinkTANK Mirrorless Mover® 5 fit?

Lake Másvatn, view to the North
October-8 2017, on our way from Akureyri to the East of Iceland we passed the calm lake of Másvatn, a few miles before the geothermals of Mývatn. Attracted by the silence of the area and the untouched surface of the water I decided to take some photographs of the calm water.
