November and December!

Despite all my attempts to stay calm and find my personal worklife balance, I am usually flat and burnt out at Christmas. Maybe it could be due to the fading daylight, too?

However, from my understanding winter time is the best to slow down, to find our way back to our roots and reflect our personal goals for the next steps, isn't it?

Usually I would find my inner balance on my occasional November and December photo walks - out there with my camera, no matter the weather.

Indeed - «fragile» could be the best title for this article! November and December light seems to change all summer and autumn colours into the wintry soft and subtle fragile moody browns and greys. There is a lot of beauty within these tones (as there is beauty everywhere and within everything - see here: Wabi-Sabi).

I tried to capture these wintry tones with my camera. Are the Sigmas dp1 QUATTRO (FOVEON X3 Sensor) colours really that outstanding, even comparable to the colours of my alltime favourite Kodachrome 64 back in the days of positive slide film? On the other hand I also love the colour rendering and details of my RICOH GR II.

Despite the rain I wanted to find out.

I am deeply impressed by the Sigmas dp1 QUATTRO (FOVEON X3 Sensor) image quality. It is truely outstanding, its details and colours are unique.

Keep in mind its sensor size is APS-C (!)

I am looking forward to Sigmas upcoming Full Frame FOVEON sensor!

Maybe in 2023?
